The transaction fee uses item price, charged shipping and gift wrap. Payment processing also includes buyer sales tax. An attributed order adds Offsite Ads on revenue, up to the per-order cap.
Your product, shipping, packaging and other costs come out after fees. Include labor or overhead you want covered before using the profit as a pricing target.
US sellers with a US bank account using Etsy Payments, with listing and payment currencies both in USD. It estimates one item in a domestic order. Other countries, currency conversion, multi-item orders, refunds and special account adjustments are outside this version.
Should I enter sales tax as revenue?
No. Enter the buyer sales tax amount separately. For this US estimate it increases the Etsy Payments processing base, while the transaction and Offsite Ads fee bases exclude it. Tax collected for the authorities is excluded from seller revenue and profit.
Do all my orders pay an Offsite Ads fee?
No. Select an Offsite Ads rate only for an order attributed to an Offsite Ad. Use your shop's applicable 15% or 12% rate. The calculator does not connect to your account or determine attribution, and the fee cannot exceed $100 per order.
Why is the listing cost editable?
A listing or renewal costs $0.20, but it is not automatically a second fee on every sale. The default allocates one $0.20 listing cost to this order. Set it to $0 if already accounted for elsewhere, or allocate the actual listing and renewal costs you want included.
Where do I enter labor, Etsy Ads or taxes on seller fees?
Include direct labor in Product cost or Other costs. Use Other ad cost for a dollar share of Etsy Ads or other advertising, excluding the Offsite Ads fee already calculated. Put any applicable tax on seller fees or allocated overhead in Other costs. Costs left out of the form are left out of profit.
